I’m super excited to finally be able to share all the details about Yeah Girl, the women’s skate photography exhibition happening on the Gold Coast this March.
Yeah Girl is a photography exhibition, exposing the often unseen and rapidly growing world of women’s skateboarding. Featuring photos of female skateboarders shot by female photographers from around the world, the exhibition is a documentation of women’s skateboarding and its creative undercurrents.
The exhibition is an opportunity to shed light on women’s skateboarding and put the ladies in the spotlight—the ones behind the lens and in front of it.

There’s so much talent in women’s skateboarding these days, from both the skaters and photographers, but it’s still very rare for females to get coverage in the magazines and industry media. In curating the exhibition I’ve tried to not only highlight the talents of the skaters on a board, but also to show the lifestyle… those in between moments of laughter, pain, freedom and friendship. I want the exhibition to tell the full story. I hope people walk away from the exhibition with a new appreciation for the skill, authenticity and genuine passion in women’s skateboarding.
Yeah Girl will be auctioning some of the exhibited works and raising money to benefit Skateistan, a nonprofit organisation that uses skateboarding as a tool for empowerment.
Yeah Girl opens on Friday 11 March at Dust Temple on the Gold Coast. The opening party kicks off at 6pm. The exhibition will be on display until March 28.
